Tawa Chicken

Tawa chicken is a delicious marinated and roasted chicken. The specialty of tawa chicken is that the texture of the chicken should be spongy soft and thick coated masala. Of course its a must try one and enjoy the great taste.


For marinating:

turmeric powder-1/2tsp
Chilly powder-1tsp
Coriander powder-1tsp
Cumin powder-1/2tsp
Garam masala-1tsp
Pepper powder-1tsp
Lemon juice-3tsp
Ginger paste-1tbsp
Garlic paste-1tbsp
Thick curd-3tbsp
Salt-to taste
Chaat masala/ tandoori masala -1tsp (0r use any arabic masala)

Other ingredients:

Onion chopped thinly-1big
Tomato chopped thinly-1
Ginger chopped thinly-1tbsp
Green chiily chopped -1tsp


Cut the chicken in to 4 pieces or big pieces; wash and drain well.
Marinate the chicken with ingredients under marination for 2 hours in fridge.
Heat oil in a non-stick pan; add the marinated chicken pieces in to it.

Cover and cook it for 10 minutes on medium flame.
Turn the other side.

Spread the chopped onion, ginger, tomato and green chilly on top of it ( don't mix).
Cover cook for another 10 minutes.

Open the lid and mix well;
cook on high flame for about another 7-10 minutes on high flame until all the masala get dried well.
Serve hot with the choice of your roti.
